Compact Disc Data Base protocol
This is the system developed by CDDB[1] and also used by FreeDB[2]
The popular, but flawed DiscID is part of the CDDBp.
NCDI is an attempt to fix that component of CDDBp.

CDDBp is not tied to any particular set of genres. However, both CDDB and FreeDB use the following list:
- Blues
- Classical
- Country
- Data
- Folk
- Jazz
- Misc
- Newage
- Reggae
- Rock
- Soundtrack
