I was walking through [[wikipedia:City,_Australian_Capital_Territory|civic]] and saw busker playing great music. A little short for time I dropped some coin and continued without stopping. A moment later it clicked that there were tapes for sale and thought that it might suit for a family member who had asked for some relaxation/meditation music - so I turned back and bought a tape - $5 - before continuing again. After listening to the tape, I never surrendered it!

The family member that I bought it for moved 1200km away at the beginning of 1992, so I wonder if it was 1991 I bought the tape. On the other hand, I was in that area of town very rarely before 1993 (when I began uni). Due to this uncertainty of time, I've labelled it 1992.

In 2005 I ripped the tape to digital format (normalized with normalize, then split with gramofile, and encoded losslessly to flac) files to ensure I could continue listening without risking the integrity of the tape. The tape remains in storage, and has not been played since.

[edit] Nemo's story

I was walking through civic and saw busker playing great music.

[edit] Ian's story

Saw him sitting on the side of a walking track through the Malaney festival playing his folk style instrument in 1993-1994, around new year's eve. All I remember is hearing this amazing music and being drawn to it, watching him whilst seated for about 20 minutes on the ground, and then clearing off leaving him behind (apparently forever).
